Stephen Arnold is a long time ACE Supporter from England - he travels frequently to
ancient sites in the Middle East and elsewhere, and his wonderful pictures are used by
the Getty Museum, amongst others. Stephen organized this " Egypt" contest for us
and we were surprised at the knowledge level of our students!
Some have wondered about Stephen's background - here he is on the subject:
"I have from an early age had a interest for Ancient History and in particular a passion for the Roman Empire. I guess this is in part because I live in Britain which was for some 400 years part of that Empire.
As a child I well remember visiting places such as Hadrian's Wall and Fishbourne Palace while on holiday with my parents. All helped spark my interest in seeing for myself what was once the Ancient World and finding out where and how these ancient peoples lived and so with the help and encouragement of great people at ACE, we have run several fun competitions. The Egyptian one being the most recent, and hope to run similar ones in the none too distant future."
The other prizes went to Kimmi and Kyle from NY, and Liz from PA.Liz from VA and Forest from MO were also winners but we don't have their pictures. The runners up also received coin prizes. Congratulations to all of the winners! Here we show a collage of our embryo Egyptologists!
