David Sear surrounded by a bevy of beauties?

When one thinks of David Sear, one visualizes him as surrounded by learned numismatic tomes, including his own!    But here he is surrounded by a bevy of beauties -  well,  Jeff Baum is the exception that proves the rule - and he is one very nice guy!\

In this picture David is examining a coin of Cleopatra - the VII no less - what mysterious message is she whispering in his ear?  It must have been " Be good to the ACE lady teachers!"  Because he obeyed her - whole-heartedly and with great persistence!
Ten of his books started their trek across the Sierras on a wintry January day from California en route to ACE for distribution to our amazing teachers - the lucky recipients scattered around the country.   However they never even made it to Virginia and 3 months later just 4 battered copies came back to him.   With British born humor, it became a joke that the six missing books had suffered the ill fortune of the Donner Party!   However, never deterred and with true bulldog tenacity, David persevered, replaced the 6 missing books, and this time they arrived to be greeted with positively rapturous smiles by the ten lucky teachers.  They were amazed that he had dedicated and signed them all.  (So, by the way,  if anyone is offered 6 Sear reference books signed by David and dedicated to ACE teachers, -  which "fell off the back of a truck" - please send them back to David or to ACE!).

The teachers love their Sear reference books, they are learning more about ancient coins and history continuously, the students are fascinated - spending time thumbing through them and exclaiming over coins, new intriguing lesson plans spring from them, and they will influence ACE's  future Museum exhibits.

A huge "Thank-You" to David, from Ten overjoyed Teachers...

Also another unexpected gesture from David - teachers Kelly in Kentucky and Jeff in central NY state - who had Final student winners in ACE's recent Julio Claudian History and Coin Contest, unexpectedly received a  Denarius each, sent specially by David, ( who had written some of the Final tie breaking questions)  to be given as "extra" prizes for the student winners, Austin and Sam...... imagine how thrilled those winners were getting 2 prizes each and one from so distinguished a donor, too!  Here they are below.. 12 yr old Austin from New York and 14 yr old Sam from Kentucky.
